The National Aquarium, Al Qana

Description (Objective):

The National Aquarium, which has over 46,000 aquatic animals from more than 300 distinct species, is thought to be the biggest aquarium in the Middle East. The entire family will be delighted and enthralled as they explore, engage, and connect with creatures and exhibits from all over the world in these ten specially themed zones, which take visitors on a journey departing from the coastal ecosystems of the United Arab Emirates.

As a flagship aquarium for the region, it embraces the mission to educate visitors as well as play an active role in conservation projects at a regional as well as international level.

Learning Outcome(s):

  • Gain an understanding about the different local marine species in the UAE and the various conservation programs carried out in TNA and with local partners.
  • Explore how the interactive exhibits and carefully catered exhibits are learning tools for students.
  • Examine how the programs and contents are adapted, to provide deeper insights for higher grades, as well as breaking down challenging scientific concepts for younger audiences.
