
Field Trip Objective:
The activity contributes to research on the amount and type of single use plastics and other waste entering the marine environment throughout the year. The data is reported directly to EAD to provide the researchers and policy makers with insights around the current situation, help them in making better decisions, and formulate new regulations and provide recommendations to leaders.
Description (Objective):
Helps participants to act and contribute to the cause, it promotes and rewards positive, environmentally responsible behaviours, encourages peer-to-peer learning, highlights the wonder of nature, and increases interest in local flora, fauna, and conservation issues.
Itinerary:
12:00 pm – The team will arrive to lay out required materials and run through the agenda.
1:00 – 1:15 pm – Check in all the participants
1:15 pm – 1:30 pm – The team leader will start with a mangrove briefing, discussing the importance of mangroves and why their conservation and protection is essential. The team leader, along with members from the Kayaking team, will perform an Equipment + Health & safety briefing.
1:30 pm – 3:15 pm – Participants will begin Kayaking and collecting litter with the Team leader.
3:15 pm – 3:40 pm – All participants will return, and they will start categorizing the litter.
3:40 pm – 4:00 pm – Reflection and group photo
Important note:
